Côte d’Ivoire
Côte d’Ivoire is a country of nearly twenty-five million people with a very young population. It is bordered to the north by Burkina Faso and Mali, to the east by Ghana, to the south by the Atlantic Ocean and finally to the west by Liberia and Guinea. The capital is Abidjan.
MaM is implemented in the cities of Abidjan and Daloa by volunteers. Peer outreach activities focus on production of video and audio content with returnees and their communities. To make its message accessible, the project uses the same information channels as these communities, including social media, local radio stations, artists and influential musicians such as Jahelle Bonee. To ensure that the actors of these channels have the tools and capacities necessary to achieve the objectives of the project, training and regular meetings with journalists, influencers, civil society organizations and volunteers are organized in Abidjan and Daloa.
